Spencer Hardy is a Board Certified Music Therapist.   He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he received his Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy in 2008.  He completed his internship at Music To Grow On Music Therapy Services in Sacramento, CA working with children with special needs.   Spencer continued on working as a full time Music Therapist at Music To Grow On from January 2009 to January 2010.

While attending Berklee College of Music Spencer’s principal instrument was saxophone.   He is also trained in voice, guitar, piano, and drums.   At Berklee Spencer completed practicum working in an integrated classroom, a nursing home, a psychiatric hospital, and the inpatient pediatric wing of Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA.   Spencer also had the opportunity while at Berklee to travel to Nairobi, Kenya, where he visited and made music with children at Shangalia Children’s Home and Nyumbani Children’s Home.

While at Music To Grow On Spencer has had the opportunity to specialize in Music Therapy with Early Intervention Child Development, working with children ages 0-3 with developmental delays.  Spencer also worked with school age children ranging in age from 4-21.  Spencer has worked in one-on-one home-based and clinic-based therapy, as well as leading school based group music therapy and home-based group music therapy.
